Frost Brown Todd Member Gene Price, currently recalled to active duty as Deputy Commander of U.S. Fleet Cyber Command/U.S. 10th Fleet at Fort Meade, MD, will represent the U.S. Navy during the presidential inauguration ceremony in Washington D.C. tomorrow. Maj. Gen. Bradley Becker, Commander of Joint Task Force-National Region, joined by senior representatives of the five military services, including Price, will lead the Presidential Escort down Pennsylvania Avenue from the U.S. Capitol to the White House.
Price was appointed by President Obama and confirmed by the U.S. Senate as a Rear Admiral in the Navy Reserve in 2014. In addition to his current appointment, he has served on active duty several times in his reserve career.
The Joint Task Force-National Region includes members from all branches of the armed forces, including the Reserve and National Guard, and represents all U.S. service members around the world. It is charged with coordinating all military ceremonial support during the inaugural period – a tradition dating back to 1789 when members of the U.S. Army, local militia units and Revolutionary War veterans escorted George Washington to his first inauguration ceremony.
