Member Matt Hoyt has joined Frost Brown Todd’s (FBT) Columbus office as the new head of the firm’s Immigration practice group. He replaces Mary (Peggy) Shukairy who retired at the end of 2021. Hoyt handles immigration matters for a variety of industries, including health care, sports and entertainment, technology, and manufacturing. He handles immigration appeals and litigation, I-9 and E-verify compliance, and worksite investigations, and has a background in employment and business litigation. Hoyt joins the team two months after Member David Janklow returned to FBT as part of the firm’s expanding immigration practice group.
FBT’s immigration team assists employers throughout the country and around the world in securing temporary visas and permanent resident status for their foreign national employees. The group includes attorneys in the firm’s Columbus and Cincinnati, Ohio, Louisville, Kentucky and Houston, Texas offices.
Hoyt is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School and Michigan State University. His pro-bono work includes representing victims of human trafficking in immigration matters.
