Strategically minded and analytical, Amy counsels schools, municipal corporations and law enforcement organizations in legal risk management and avoidance as clients drive their organizations forward. Amy honed her litigation skills in the public sector, previously serving in Indiana as a Deputy Prosecutor and Deputy Attorney General. She has tried numerous jury and bench trials defending state agencies including the Department of Transportation, Department of Corrections, Department of Natural Resources, and Indiana State Police.
Amy has guided a major city’s Private Industry Council on projects involving FERPA and privacy compliance and data-sharing agreements. Adept in education law, she represents private and public school corporation matters involving sexual misconduct, student suicide, bullying, hazing, etc. She is particularly knowledgeable in the area of Special Education, including Individualized Education Plans and IDEA compliance. In her work defending cities and towns, Amy has represented a diverse group of entities, including health plan administrators, law enforcement agencies, and public officials.
Before joining Frost Brown Todd, Amy was the Indiana Regional Assistant General Counsel for Nationwide Insurance Company. Providing insurance coverage opinions in all lines of business, she led clients through a variety of complex insurance coverage matters, including self-funded health plans governed by ERISA and matters involving subrogation, coordination of benefits, and conflicts with stop-loss carriers.

Amy has participated in Catastrophic Event Coverage Committees, Underwriting Profitability task forces, as well as Amicus, Claims and Legislative Steering Committees for prominent insurance carriers and trade associations.
With legislative experience spanning more than a decade, Amy has participated in Indiana House and Senate committee meetings and testified before a Senate committee on the amendment of a statute related to health care.
