Mr. Dassie focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation, including trade secret and patent disputes. With regard to trade secret litigation, he has substantive experience representing plaintiffs and defendants, with extensive experience at all stages of the litigation, which includes helping parties to seek or defend against preliminary injunctions.
For patent litigation, Mr. Dassie has significant experience at both the district courts and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), encompassing a wide range of technologies, from asthma inhaler drugs to lubricating oil compositions, and the process and detection of images in electronic devices. While Mr. Dassie has broad litigation experience, he particularly enjoys working on damages and other remedial aspects of a case. He has assisted in deposing damages experts, drafting expert reports on damages, drafting dispositive motions on damages issues, and drafting a motion for entry of judgment on damages — obtaining favorable injunctive and monetary relief for his clients.
