Julia’s practice focuses on various stages of litigation, including pre-litigation strategy, factual investigation and discovery, and preparation of dispositive motions, oftentimes on an expedited basis, if necessary. Her experience spans business and corporate disputes, class action defense, and government contract claims ranging from bid protests to procurement disputes. She also has experience advising clients in highly regulated industries of their regulatory and compliance obligations. Julia is also a member of the firm’s privacy and data security group and has experience creating incident response plans, advising on regulatory and notification obligations, and guiding clients through all stages of an incident.
Prior to joining the firm, Julia was in-house counsel at a large telecommunications company working on federal and state regulatory matters before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and state public utility commissions. During this time, she counseled the business on its compliance obligations and responded to investigations from federal agencies. She also advised on issues related to the Telecommunications Act of 1996, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the Stored Communications Act (SCA), and the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA).
Julia previously completed a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Lydia Kay Griggsby, formerly of the United States Court of Federal Claims in Washington, DC, where she drafted and edited judicial opinions related to government contract disputes.
