Ms. Abreu concentrates her practice in the area of employment law. She handles a wide range of employment litigation and counseling matters for private companies and higher education institutions. She defends employers in both federal and state court, and before administrative agencies, in litigation brought under Title VII, New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, and Conscientious Employee Protection Act and involving alleged employment discrimination, harassment, whistle-blowing, and retaliation. She also assists employers in drafting employee handbooks, policies, agreements, and training materials and conducts workplace investigations.
Ms. Abreu most recently completed a clerkship for the Honorable Brian R. Martinotti, U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey. Prior to her clerkship, Ms. Abreu was an associate in the Gibbons Commercial & Criminal Litigation Group. She also completed a clerkship for the Honorable Marie P. Simonelli, Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division.
