Patty is certified as a specialist in estate planning, trust and probate law by the Ohio State Bar Association and is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, where she serves as a member of the Estate and Gift Tax Committee. She concentrates her practice in the areas of estate planning, trust and estate administration, charitable gift planning, probate and trust litigation, business succession planning, and individual and fiduciary income taxation.
Patty counsels individual clients in all areas of wealth transfer planning, including federal gift and estate tax planning, charitable planning, planning for retirement benefit distributions, generation-skipping design and analysis, asset protection planning, and family business succession planning.
She represents corporate and individual fiduciaries in all aspects of trust and estate administration. Patty also advises trust and estate beneficiaries in connection with their rights and interests in the administration, distribution and termination of significant estates and multi-generational trust arrangements. Patty counsels fiduciaries and beneficiaries in connection with trust disputes and modifications, including the negotiation of private settlement agreements and other non-judicial remedies, participation in declaratory judgment and trust construction court actions, and matters involving trust reformations and early trust terminations.
Patty is the Immediate Past Chair of the Ohio State Bar Association Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law Section Council. The Council reviews trust and probate law in Ohio and drafts proposed trust and probate law legislation which is sponsored by the Ohio State Bar Association.
