Todd is a registered Patent Attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He specializes in obtaining patent protection, managing patent portfolios, navigating the patent landscape with freedom to operate opinions, drafting and negotiating patent licensing agreements, as well as handling patent related issues stemming from mergers and acquisitions.
Todd has counseled, assisted, and collaborated with clients having various levels of patent experience; spanning from first-time inventors all the way to companies with robust in-house IP teams. He has experience with less traditional, hands-on projects, working directly with R&D teams during product development to navigate the current patent landscape established by competitors.
Understanding the patent process, the benefits of patent protection, and some of the interwoven variables affecting the potential benefits of patent protection are all critical in determining whether to file an application. Todd provides instruction on taking this information and leveraging it through a risk analysis process that could help improve long-term patent portfolio success.
Currently, Todd serves on the Board of Directors of Children Inc., a nonprofit provider of child care, family support, and school age services in Greater Cincinnati.
