Introducing FBT DC
Frost Brown Todd’s inside-the-Beltway look at the issues of the day, debated with gusto by a bipartisan crew of well-weathered recovering politicians and former senior government officials.
Remember The McLaughlin Group? (If not, here’s a refresher spoof from SNL).
Our new Washington, D.C. office is bringing back the spirit of the show in a half-hour segment, drawing on some of the best minds to provide their takes on the hottest topics in our nation’s capital. This month’s spirited roundtable discussion is led by former Kentucky State Treasurer Jonathan Miller (D), who serves as the Member-in-Charge of Frost Brown Todd’s Washington, D.C. office.
This month’s topics include:
- Issue 1: WWJD – What Will Joe (Manchin) Do? West Virginia’s senior senator sits at the fulcrum of federal policy. What should we expect from his next actions?
- Issue 2: Wither Democracy? There’s been much partisan wailing and gnashing of teeth concerning election reform efforts in the states and in Congress. What will be the end result?
- Issue 3: Bridges, Trains, Planes and Automobiles. Infrastructure is Washington’s watchword – can a bipartisan effort pass, and what’s the outsized role to be played by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell?
- Issue 4: Death and Taxes. They are our two certainties, but will a tax hike on the rich and corporations materialize in this Congress?
