The members of Frost Brown Todd LLC (FBT) have elected Robert V. Sartin to serve as chairman of the firm. Sartin’s initial three-year term begins January 1, 2018.
Sartin has served on FBT’s nine-person Executive Committee since 2012. He joined the firm in 2006 and was member-in-charge of the Lexington, KY, office from 2008-2011. He has previously served on the firm’s Strategic Planning, Finance, and Advancement Committees. Sartin also co-chairs the firm’s Automotive Industry team.
As chairman, Sartin will focus on driving the firm’s growth and strategic planning, ancillary business ventures, and new business opportunities. He will also serve on the firm’s Executive and Compensation Committees.

Adam P. Hall, the firm’s newly elected Chief Executive Officer whose initial term is also effective January 1, reflected on Sartin’s election. “Robert was an excellent choice. Sartin succeeds John R. Crockett, III, who has served as FBT’s chairman for the past nine years. As previously announced, Crockett is leaving the firm in January to join the senior leadership team at Louisville Gas and Electric and Kentucky Utilities Company.

Crockett joined Brown Todd & Heyburn in 1990. The firm merged with Frost & Jacobs in 2000 to become Frost Brown Todd LLC. Crockett became the firm’s chairman in 2009, succeeding Ed Glasscock. During Crockett’s tenure as chairman, the firm expanded to Indianapolis, Dallas and Pittsburgh, in addition to continuing to grow in its existing markets. With more than 500 lawyers, FBT has grown to become one of the largest law firms in Mid America.
