Biography

Bryan joined Frost Brown Todd in 2019 an associate in the firmโ€™s Bankruptcy and Restructuring Group and has broad experience across all facets of bankruptcy practice, including commercial and consumer cases, and bankruptcy litigation. During his time at the firm, Bryan has represented debtors, creditors, trustees, and committees in large, complex chapter 11 cases, and consumer cases under chapter 7 and chapter 13. Bryan has represented clients in dozens of adversary proceedings for clients across the energy, insurance, and financial industries, among others.

Prior to joining the firm, Bryan served as the Career Law Clerk to the Honorable Charles M. Caldwell at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio. At the Bankruptcy Court, Bryan drafted dozens of judicial opinions in adversary proceedings and contested matters in cases small and large, and helped Judge Caldwell manage the Courtโ€™s significant chapter 13 docket.

Bryan leverages his experience in private practice and public service โ€“ across the entirety of the Bankruptcy Code โ€“ to advise clients with a comprehensive approach to legal strategy to maximize both client outcomes and the value of the legal work required to achieve those outcomes.

Bryan's Relevant Experience

Subchapter V Representation

Bryan has led multiple investigations for clients in cases under subchapter v of chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code, where he has successfully investigated Debtorsโ€™ finances and recovered significant funds for our clients, including cases in Arizona and Maryland, and has had client legal fees reimbursed for showing substantial contribution to the bankruptcy estate. These cases have generally involved helping creditors recover value from individual Debtorsโ€™ personal guaranties of business debts, which is complicated even outside of bankruptcy.

Preference Actions

Bryan also has significant experience with preference actions, having settled dozens of preference matters both in and out of court. He has prosecuted preference actions on behalf of bankruptcy estates, and defended creditors against alleged preferences.

The bulk of Bryanโ€™s practice is in Kentucky and Ohio where he is licensed, but Bryan has served clients coast-to-coast, โ€Œappearing or working on cases on behalf of clients in the following districts;
