Matthew is practicing in the areas of trademark, copyright, entertainment law and internet law. Matthew regularly works with clients developing global brand procurement and enforcement strategies. He has considerable experience in domestic and international trademark clearance work, trademark prosecution, licensing, enforcement and litigation, including representing clients before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
Matthew regularly advises clients on copyright protection and registration, entertainment, advertising, social media, websites and the Internet, including in connection with master service agreements, design service agreements, software development agreements, mobile application end user license agreements, wi-fi user agreements, website terms of use, privacy policies, copyright assignments and licenses, music contracts, copyright clearance and fair use opinions, book publishing agreements, video production agreements, talent releases, publicity waivers and releases, artwork releases, location agreements, film options and other matters. Matthew works with clients in a wide variety of industries including clothing and apparel, bed and bath, food and beverage, and entertainment and sports.
Prior to joining the firm, Matthew worked in and around Los Angeles within the film and television industry and as a freelance writer and director of short films and stage plays.
