Financial services Member Tim Wieher is the newest addition to Frost Brown Todd’s (FBT) Columbus office, focusing on FinTech matters, financial services regulatory matters, financial transactions, and corporate and real estate transactions. Wieher previously served as general counsel and chief compliance officer of CAN Capital, a fintech company known for providing access of more than $7 billion in working capital to its commercial customers. He is known for using his in-house experience to provide practical advice to clients regarding complex transactions.
Wieher’s work includes advising a privately held fintech borrower in connection with a recapitalization of the company, with credit facilities of approximately $250,000,000. He advises banks and FinTech companies regarding regulatory compliance matters, including designing and building a compliance program for an emerging payments and lending company. Also, he routinely serves as outside counsel for publicly traded real estate investment trusts. Wieher has also represented banks with multi-million-dollar loans and credit facilities.
Wieher is a graduate of Loyola University School of Law and also has his federal tax certificate.
