    Biography

    Emily’s practice focuses on corporate matters for international and U.S.-based businesses, including business formation, day-to-day corporate matters, commercial matters, and mergers and acquisitions. She grew up in both the U.S. and Japan, and is fully bilingual in English and Japanese. Civically, she works with the Tri-State International Education Fund, Inc. (TSIEFI) in support of the Japanese Language School of Greater Cincinnati. She is also an active member of the Japan America Society of Greater Cincinnati.

    Emily received her bachelor’s degree from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio and completed the General Course at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in London, U.K. She joined Frost Brown Todd in 2019 after graduating from Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington, Indiana, and working at Masuda, Funai, Eifert, & Mitchell in Chicago, Illinois, as a summer associate.

    Worked on an M&A deal team for the half billion-dollar acquisition of a start-up and its blockchain protocol.

    Secured E-visas for employees of a Spanish manufacturer building factories in the U.S. during the pandemic by successfully arguing for and obtaining approvals of national interest waivers.

    Supported Japanese counsel on the U.S.-side due diligence in connection with the acquisition of a U.S. subsidiary of a leading Japanese automobile parts supplier.

    Advised subsidiary of a Japanese conglomerate on securing its loaned assets in 13 U.S. States.

    Prepared online sales terms and conditions for a popular bourbon-related brand.

    Connected a client to counsel in Korea, Singapore and Vietnam and facilitated the corporate governance changes needed for the client’s foreign affiliates.

    Supported an OEM’s negotiations with its suppliers on the adoption of new and updated terms and conditions.

    Drafted an agreement to manage potential liabilities, enabling the donation of lightly used safety equipment to fire departments.
