Steve Robertson, chairman and chief architect of the Republican Party of Kentucky’s (RPK) unprecedented growth since 2007, will join CivicPoint LLC, the public affairs subsidiary of Frost Brown Todd (FBT), as senior vice president in the firm’s Lexington office.
Robertson will help guide the firm’s strategic direction and growth in Kentucky, connecting business and community leaders to policymakers throughout the Commonwealth.
“Steve has a unique set of political relationships and he’s proven he knows how to get things done,” said FBT Chairman John Crockett. “I’m confident he’ll do the same for CivicPoint and our clients.”
Robertson has worked in Kentucky politics since 1994, when he first joined the RPK as political director. Under Robertson’s leadership, the party experienced unprecedented success, winning both U.S. Senate seats, five of six Congressional seats and capturing a majority of the Kentucky Senate.
“Steve has been an integral part of creating and growing the Republican majority in the Kentucky Senate,” said Senate President Robert Stivers, R-Manchester. “He’ll be a great asset for CivicPoint.”
Robertson has also served as Commissioner for the Governor’s Office for Local Development and as legislative political director for the Republican National Committee. He begins work in CivicPoint’s Lexington office on Aug. 17, but will continue as RPK chairman through November.
“I am excited to join CivicPoint, not only for the firm’s strength in Kentucky, but because it’s the only multistate public affairs firm in our region,” Robertson said. “The opportunity to work at this scale is unique, and I look forward to helping clients achieve their goals in Kentucky—and throughout the CivicPoint footprint.”
Robertson joins Jonathan Miller, former Kentucky Treasurer and Democratic Party chair; Russell Coleman, former counsel to U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell; and Brooke Parker, former Executive Director for Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs in the Kentucky Energy & Environmental Cabinet, to form a comprehensive, bipartisan public affairs team in Kentucky. CivicPoint’s footprint in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, and Tennessee provides competitive advantages to clients, and its team members have been guiding clients through state and local government affairs throughout mid-America for decades.
“Clients care about results,” said CivicPoint Managing Principal Tom Lee. “And no one in Kentucky is now better positioned to get those results than CivicPoint.”
