Biography

Senior Associate Kaitlin L. Madigan focuses her practice on matters involving defense of governmental entities, insurance, wrongful death and products liability claims. She received her B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Tennessee and her J.D. from Capital University Law School where Kaitlin was a member of the Order of the Curia. Kaitlin gained her Ohio Bar admission in 2011 and also has admission before the United States District Court for the Southern and Northern Districts of Ohio. Kaitlin is a member of the Appellate Section of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Columbus Bar Association where she is a member of the New Lawyers Group and a graduate of the Barrister’s Leadership Program. In 2016, Kaitlin was a participant in the International Association of Defense Counsel Trial Academy at Stanford Law School, which develops defense trial advocacy skills through faculty instruction and demonstration. Since 2018, Kaitlin has been recognized as an Ohio Rising Star in Civil Litigation–Defense by Thomson Reuters.

Obtained a full defense verdict representing a trucking corporation in federal court with claimed damages in excess of $20 million.

Successful mediation of wrongful death claim on behalf of defendant, Ohio municipality, with claimed damages in excess of $11 million.

Successful mediation of products liability claim for international beauty corporation with claimed damages in excess of $10 million.

Appellate work, brief preparation and oral argument in Ohio before Tenth District Court of Appeals, Fourth District Court of Appeals, Twelfth District Court of Appeals, Seventh District Court of Appeals, and Supreme Court of Ohio.
